Been gone a few years from this site. Has sure changed!!
Had a 85 GN I was threatening to restore, even got as far as stripping down, doing some bodywork, got an 87 engine and harness and new doors etc and then never got the time to do anything. bit off way more than I could chew.
Advertised the car several times, got multiple deposits and nobody ever came for it. Sold the 87 engine and associated goodies, but car still remained.
Then a deal I couldn't pass up, a trade!!! An 81 Cutlass with very few issues (rear bumper, drivers quarter, 305 sbc) with lots of stuff done and extras, and I get to keep my transmission and posi from the GN as the guy has a parts GN and doesn't need them. As well, car is a British Columbia car (huge deal for title), and my GN was an Alberta car. He is in Alberta, I am in BC... so perfect. As I have already made money on the GN, this car and the diff and transmission are a bonus.
Here is Cutlass, had it 2 days and already hard at it.
Car has drop spindles, 17" Ridler wheels and new rubber, turbo 350 trans w/B&M slapstick (WHY?), new rear frame rails were done, was frame off and frame painted /undercoated.
Came with a lot of goodies in the trunk and a decent stereo.
Has some body issues, but nothing I cannot do myself.
Had to swap out diff when the guy got here so the GN would roll. i have been hard at the diff and trailing arms last few days. Just about to install all new urethane bushings, but am now thinking about aftermarket trailing arms because they are not too expensive. Not sure if they are worth it or not but have to decide soon.
There are 2 coats of tremclad black brushed on under the blue. And yes, several hours with grinder and assorted wire attachments before that. PITA.
Next up is GN transmission and driveshaft then on to the engine, for which I have several laying around. Was going to LS the GN, so have those parts and a vortec, and a 350 sbc, etc.
As well, the headers in the trunk are for an Olds engine. Ceramic coated Flowtechs. Up for grabs, I will post them and a few other things I have around.

Whoo-hoo!! I love getting a new GBody. Just feels right.

no different than ordering new. just half price to begin with. Check from 83805.
I am always surprised by how cheap shipping is in the US. Package is only 30lbs.
I have parts coming into Porthill next week, my guy will be taking packages to ship.

Permanent Temporary
Having stared at my projects for many years, I am eager to get back to them. Three kids are the more important investment of my time right now, and fortunately my wife doesn't hammer me too hard.

I hope the underside is in better shape than the bumper. Kevin (O.D.Showtime) is in a neighboring province and has a way of finding things. Keep up the good work. And absolutely, drive the wheels off it!
