if you can't be civil what are you doing here?
me? haahaa, arguing for fun now
I had a question, searched the web found only hear say and maybies, I thought seems how it was pertaining to G Bodies someone here might have tried one, I asked my question, got a lie, now I'm not civil. Maybe I'm not being courteous and polite enough for how sensitive you guys seem to be but it was like going to a restaurant asking for a burger and instead you get several plates of dog crap, would you be civil? I think your just mad now because you posted a worthless search with no info on the subject at hand, I'm sorry , but even if info has been posted somewhere and someone didn't search or find it before asking a question why does everyone feel the need to be soo mean and dickish. From Ontario aye, if your ever near VT shoot me message(if my account is not deleted) I'll buy you a beer or margarita or appletini or whatever you drink

This is my translation to how it comes across: "Answer my question the way I want you to or you can all go to hell!!"

This forum provides advice like every other forum. You ask for 10 cents worth, you get 10 dollars worth. Some of it's good, some bad, some in between. It's all free, but you have to sort out what you believe or what you don't.

The answer is no. Rear control arm brackets suck up too much space along with the width of the crossmember and kick up on the sides. Sell the batwing to a corvette owner who needs one and get the right stuff if you're even thinking of putting in a G-body. If you're not going to use it in your car, who the hell cares?

Because reading between the lines, you just told us is that you think that pan is worth some $$ and you want to tout it in your ad as fitting a G-body or try to sell it to one of your G-body friends. Not a bad idea, but unfortunately, no. Well, it will if you throw enough $$ at it.

I don't know of any other LS swap person running one in a G-body or an A-body. I don't see anyone advertising that they're a great choice for a G-body, either. That should be all anyone needs to know. Unless you're dumping your exhaust around the top of the frame and lifting the engine up or something. And there's probably a good reason you haven't found anyone trying out one of these pans in a G-body. Because there's nobody retarded enough to even try it. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that there are other, better choices of pans that actually do fit without modifying a bunch of stuff.

Ok even though I said let it go

I have to ask what was the lie?

My statement that it hits the K-Frame??

Do the math on the dimensions,

Front of engine to 8 inches back where the sump begins

Not enough room to clear the K-Frame.

For someone that doesn't know the answer themselves, you are quick to call someone a liar.

Go troll the other forums you've been banned from.

Can't remember his user name, but there is a regular on pro-touring forums that has a bat wing pan in a bandit era trans am. I know not a g-body, but similar crossmember, engine trans room. Could google batwing pan on that forum's search site.
I wouldn't go through the trouble of even checking for a street driven only vehicle, but if planning autocross or drift style driving , the bat pan would be worth a little trouble. I frequently do things others say not possible, that takes lots of skilled work, such as possibly a tubular crossmember. Not feasible may be a better term here.
LS swaps in a g-body are not a one size, product, or method fits all, less common stuff takes more skill to possibly make work.
That's my 2 cents here, I'm staying clear of the other discussions here.

Probably not tried often since the pan's original application is on a powertrain that by default is going to be among the most expensive to procure. I get that the OP has one, but your typical G body builder isn't likely to source Corvette parts for their conversion.

My engine is in the machine shop and my car currently looks like the attached pictures, I guess I have a ls1 block with windows floating around somewhere I could try it on.

just wanted to know if someone has tried one, thanks for adding more misinformation to the the all ready cloudy subject , I will update after I find a block and try it

Herein lies the problem... And no one "lied" to you.... It's simple really. You have a stock frame. Those of us who have the same (99.99%) know that after doing an LS swap that there is barely room for the pan options out there currently. So looking at that vette pan we tell you "No" and you call out guys because of basic common sense? Maybe if you had a Shwartz or Morrison frame someone would have told you differently but that's not the case here. It looks like you have a nice project going on and it'd be a shame to not share and learn from this place. There is a ton of knowledge here and some really great people that will go out of their way to help. Step back and look how you handled the information you have been given.
