Picked this crate motor up a while back. Its all forged internals the number on the crate was 366250. Anyone know more specific info on it. Any idea how much power the stock forged internals can handle? Any idea where I'd find the casting number on the crank to know for sure if its forged or any other tell sign?

OP, that ID decal/tag says it has a 5140 forged steel crank.....the forging number will be 7416 which you won't be able to see unless you drop the pan. In answering your "how much" question, if you look up what an Eagle forged cast crank for a 454 will handle that will pretty much give you an indicator.....the Eagle is made of 5140 as well....

The engine was rated at 450 hp when built. Its a 10.2:1 engine with rectangle port heads. Like was said, the crank is forged and the number is inside the oil pan so you won't see the casting number on the outside. The cam was a .520/.520 lift solid lifter cam. The stock steel cranks can hold a lot of power. I ran one in my 509 and made 780 hp with it.

Already dropped the pan to inspect and get ready for all the new parts. Found the casting number and what appears to be the good dimple rods with 7/16 bolts! Could this have come with a hv oil pump and deeper pan too?

I had the exact Ls6 in my first Chevelle in the late 80's. It was a GM crate motor. Good street performance.

Its basically a bulletproof bottom end for decent power. What rpm do you want to run it to? Depending on piston weight those rods have lived over 7000 rpm. I had them in my 427 and shifted it at 7300 rpm with a heavy Speed Pro piston.
