Yikes! Been a couple busy months. My buddy was deployed to Kuwait who owns the garage where my car is stored. He'll be back in December and I have access to it but work has been insane. Today though another friend and I went in there to "get a victory" and do something to motivate us. I've had suspension upgrade parts sitting around for quite a while now and we decided to hit up the rear and install them.

Car is up on jack stands all the way around. If you notice in the upper right corner the cardboard cutout.. We call that "Cardboard Zac".. He's the replacement for my buddy deployed. He's gonna have a busy summer with adventures.

Got the old crusty shocks out. Here it is next to the new Belltech drop shocks.

And of course the factory springs, which are in pretty damn good shape, next to BMR 2" drop springs.

And finally of course our installed results. Also removed some old factory exhaust brackets not in use anymore. Was a good day and definitely nice to be back in the shop having fun. Next weekend the plan is to install the front QA1 coilovers.

Glad to see this thread didn't lock or anything. As always, life got in the way of the project. Only been able to do some sanding here and there between fixing my truck, my friend's cars, blah blah. But great news! I had almost given up hope finding the quarter panel I need when my buddy sent me a craigslist link. $400 later and here's this bad boy:

The good news is both rear quarters and a bunch of other body panels are in great shape. It also has all the conversion to a hardtop trim and stuff I need. The bad news is.. It's a 1979 W-30 that some very mean person chopped up. Completely gutted everything from the back seat to the end. The back half of the car is just quarter panels and the trunk lid. Frame, trunk, gas tank, all that gone. Kinda sucks to see a cool W-30 basically destroyed. But it will live on in my 79 Calais. I'll be parting out what's left of the husk after I get my use of it too so be on the lookout for that I guess. I can't wait to hop back into the ol' Cutty, I miss her dearly.

That's some shameful mistreatment. Using the good parts and and passing the rest along is the most humane thing.

Keep me posted on what or if anything is left. My 79 H/O can maybe use something to help it's recovery along. So far kind members have aided me with my search and maybe you can as well. Thx AZ

My 79 is in desperate need of a header panel. If you are not in need of that one I would like to get on the waiting list. 🙏🙏.
