Bench seats and aftermarket shifters

So I know this has probably been covered numerous times but I'm really new to the G-Body seen. I want to put a aftermarket ratchet shifter in of some sort but I obviously don't know what would fit best with the factory bench seat. Any advice is appreciated.

You might be able to get away with one since you have the split bench seat. The 79 I once owned had a B&M with a bench and I had to swap to buckets. Couldnt move the seat up close enough. Previous owner was 6'1, Im 5'8.
