I what to put exhaust on sleek header back,x pipe, mufflers and tail pipes was looking at summit and jegs and reading some of the reviews. A lot of mixed comments on all kits some tail pipes not right some pipe to header hook problems does any got a good choice to go with. Now I know they say bolt right on if that was true then it would be to easy. I m looking for suggestions on best fitting. The headers r for summit ( in 1990 ) their brand, 350 csb 350 transmission. Any suggestions and thank u for them.

Do you already have a dual exhaust transmission crossmember?

I'll share a little bit about the setup I have in my Cutlass.

I used the jegs long tube headers. They fit pretty good but be forewarned they are cheap headers. The coating will burn off after the first run, the welds aren't the best, but they don't leak. I'm not a fan of the 3 bolt collector.

The headers are mated up to the Jegs 2.5" exhaust kit.

Fitment is pretty good, pipe quality is also good. It is all mandrel bends. Keep in mind this system does not come with any crossover pipe (x or h). I added an H pipe to mine. The hangers that come with the kit aren't that great, I've broken a few and replaced with something better. Mufflers are easy to swap out with this kit, I have changed them a few times. Another thing to consider with this kit is exit location.

Here is how it comes out of the box:

Or you can cut the last bend off and end up with something like this:

I should also mention I am using the jegs cross member. I have no exhaust clearance issues.

This Pypes exhaust kit sounds like it may check all the boxes for you.

Depends on what you want to do with the car.And the sound you want I have a 1981 El Camino SS. Its my daily driver. It has a 290 HP 350 ,Turbo 350 ,Flow Tech "shorty"headers True dual 2 1/14 exhaust with a custom Transmission cross member Flowmaster 3 mufflers. And dumps out just behind the rear wheels .With chrome tips. Some like from mid to long tube headers .and a array of mufflers.
