Looking for the best way to check fuel pressure...

Metal fuel line tubing leading towards the front of the Dualjet carb doesn't have much slack, (I can't see how I can wedge in an adapter between there).

How are you folks checking for fuel pressure?

This is how I'm planning on doing it just so I can check it ( I won't be driving around with it set up like this ); Get a new fuel line from the boneyard. Cut it so you only have a small amount of steel line; 1 end on the carb, the other end from the fuel pump. Use a rubber hose/clamps to connect the 2 ends together. Insert a T fitting in the rubber hose and connect to fuel pressure gauge. After you have the info you seek, put stock steel fuel line back on.

I was thinking about this method too, but thought it would be too time consuming. Either way, I went on setting it up like this.

Here's a note of caution. I found a similar (unsure if was the same year) regal as mine, but definitely had the same carb number as mine. Took the fuel line off and noticed something different on that fuel line. The difference was in the end of the fuel line. The fuel line off my car has a ball and socket type of configuration that seals itself when tightening the nut. In addition, there is not gasket on that type of line because of that setup.

The other fuel line I picked up doesn't have this setup. That setup has a flat end. It also comes with a seal at the end of that one. I didn't think much of it until I was fitting the part up and noticed slight resistance. After tightening the fuel line nut I backed out and noticed a few threads on the fuel line fitting were flattened out.

I also noticed that the fuel inlet nut ( the nut that screws onto the front of the carb) were two different sizes in length.

I am not sure if the fuel line fittings has the same thread througout the years.
