Blazer brake swap question

I currently have 14" rims and I'm totally redoing my front ends bushings and everything... Is the blazer brake swap worth doing if I have to buy new rims since I have everything pulled apart right now?

yes. while the rotor size is only slightly larger than ours, they use a two piston caliper and that's worth the upgrade AND if you get large enough wheels, with aftermarket brackets from kore3 you can use corvette rotors and caliper or calipers from an LS powered 4th gen f-body. basically they'll allow you to use much larger rotors up to 14" with Z06 6 piston calipers.

i plan on getting the spindles and using the blazers components and upgrading to vette rotors later on.

What would the brake size have to do with the axle studs and rim diameter? I don't understand?

rim size has everything to do with brake size. if your wheels are too small, lets say 14" stock steel wheels, and you want mondo huge brakes and put Z06 14" rotors on the car you will not get those wheels to fit. the entire rotor and caliper assembly sits inside the wheel so the wheel has to have an inside diameter greater than the outside diameter of the brake assembly. even an upgrade to 12" rotors would require a larger wheel if you're using 14" wheels.

A has an outside diameter of 14"
B has an inside diameter of 12"
A will not fit inside B but C has an inner diameter of 15" allowing A to fit inside C

hope that clears up any confusion you have.
