A friend is wanting to buy these but he’s confused, so am I, as to if he can use these instead of the stock calipers or if he would need to upgraded to the blazer setup, could he use them?

D154 is the 'small' single piston GM caliper from back in the day that was used on "mid size" cars & small + LT. Duty trucks.
D152 is the larger caliper used on full size pass cars & trucks.

The tech doesn't list the 'pin spread' (distance between the 2 anchor pins) but it does say it's a D154 replacement which suggests it should fit where a D154 caliper fits.

In my opinion, if your are going to spend the money, upgrade to the Blazer setup.

There is NO performance benefit to those calipers.

Stock Caliper Weight = 6.3lb
Wilwood Caliper Weight = 4.6lb

1.7lb savings. Is that worth the $400 spent for two wilwood calipers?

Also, the Wilwood Dual Piston caliper will have less piston area, so there will be less clamping forces without applying additional effort with your foot against the brake pedal.

If you want to spring for the Wilwood calipers, go with the single piston 2.5" diameter version for a 1.1" thick rotor. Part number 120-11870.

The single piston Wilwood caliper has equal the piston area of the stock calipers, so it theoretically has the same clamping forces, but since it is made of aluminum, there might be more clam shelling (spreading) of the caliper when the brakes are applied.

If you go with the Blazer setup, I also think you can easily go with the 1998-2002 F-Body front brake swap easier with a bracket that will bolt to the spindle easier. There may be other larger rotor and caliper upgrades for the Blazer spindle , but I have not looked into them.

Also, in my opinion, keep the stock calipers and upgrade to aftermarket brake pads. This is the best bang for the buck.

You can also go with the Wilwood oversized 2.75" diameter piston caliper.

These are 4.3lb each and have the best piston area of any bolt in caliper. Part number is 120-8924. On the Wilwood website, the run around $100 each.

That being said, from personal experience, I would still not put a lot of money in the stock brake setup other than a new pads and hoses from the auto parts store. If the calipers are in good working order, I would keep them. If not, I would just get replacement calipers from the auto parts store.

Flush your fluid, roughly, every 5 to 7 years.

hello people: speaking of replacement calipers? Does anyone sell them made pretty? Meaning powder coated or just cleaned up?

Wilwoods are made 'pretty' & will bolt in.

If one switches to aftermarket brake swap kits for LS f-body/C5 Vette brakes, there are powder-coated calipers available.

Or.... You can always sand & paint stock calipers to make them look better if so inclined.

I'm a parts counter dude now. A-1 cardone calipers are now coated. Nice shinny silver. There is a sticker right on the box to let you know.

I originally had planned to go with Wilwood but after a very bad experience with them for a customers car, I decided to go way over the top and do the C6 Z06 calipers. I can't say enough good things about them, but they were pricey. A much better bang for the buck most guys on here do is the Blazer swap with the LS1 calipers, much improved stopping for not a whole lot of money
