That'll buff right out. Just a scratch. Agreed, glad it was just the car that got injured.

Maybe the silver lining is now you can think about getting new tubular A-arm setup, or at least a good front end rebuild. From the looks of those bushings and bolts, something was going to give sooner or later anyway. Glad it just broke and didn't decide to take an exit on you. I had an upper A-arm bolt break on me one time and it was scary enough when it happened.

That is another reason I think all the suspsision and body bushing ought to be changed after buying a 30 year old car. Rusted out parts like control arms would probably be noticed when the bushings are being changed.

I can't say I've ever seen a a control arm rip apart like that, but anything is possible....especially when there's rust in the equation.

I wouldn’t have agreed with you until yesterday I’m upset with myself for not catching that,my wife normally drives this car every Friday I don’t drive it very often I’m very fortunate it broke backing up in a parking lot while I was behind the wheel. Yesterday I ordered complete suspension bushing kits for my 85 and 86 cars!
