Been debating on selling my 1977 olds 455 motor that's taking up space in my garage. It's In a few pieces but it's complete. Is it worth keeping or would it be better to build a different motor?

Olds 455s are becoming harder to find and even harder at a decent price. I wouldnt sell it. 76’ was the last year and it should have the low compression pistons but still could easily be a street beast. Building any of the Olds 350, 403, or 455 all cost about the same to get to a certain horsepower power level. The 455 will have more torque and better street manors. Jmo.

I have a built olds 403 in my car right now. Runs great. Just wasn't sure if the 455 is worth it I guess. Since everyone is using Chevy motors in everything......

If you have the 403 and are happy with it then I would sell the 455. Whatever you do dont put a Chevy in it like the rest of the world!!!

I vote keep it Olds, but leave the 403 until it explodes an have the 455 as a back-up. Swapping over to a chevy could be expensive but yet building an Olds 455 could be to because of limited aftermarket parts.

Very cool to own. You can always sell it later.
