Looks like a fun project. I would be more impressed if you would have turboed the 454.

I have a feel for an '84 SS lol. Don't reinvent the wheel if you're on a budget. The 340lph pump isn't even worth upgrading imo. Go to either a 450 in tank or 400 external. And don't stop at one, I run two 400's external. They are darn cheap. If you're going to stick with gas, then know you're limited to 14-16 psi before sh*t gets ugly unless you pump the meth to it.

Are you running a stock PCM?

I’ve already got a 340 in the garage, but I’ll run 2 if I need to. The name of the game is cheap, as I plan to put a lot of miles on it. I can’t get traction as it is anyway so I doubt I get much more agressive. Plus I really enjoy 20mpg. I’m running terminator x, and I’m tempted to try 87octane and meth injection and see how far I would go. Plus the meth would help push past 14psi if I ever wanted to.

Oh I forgot I also picked up a 4l80, and traded with a local guy to get him to build it. Ck kit, dual fed direct clutch, accumulator delete, etc. Tried the new btr converter and it was way too loose. Sold it and got a circle D 2,800 and it worked out great.

No I actually plan to paint it when time and money permits. I traded some work with local body guy that was doing an ls swap in his Camaro. He’s got my paint mixed up already. I just need to get money to pay for materials, and find another hood as mine has a ton of dents. I’d also like to fill the antenna hole, convert to 86+ mirrors, and we debated flaring the rear quarter out to cover some more of the rear tire instead of rolling under too. Like 2-3” at the bottom. Kind of like an 80z28 ground effect.

This is his car. I’m excited to see what he can do. His is an ls1 with a cam and nitrous, t56, 12bolt rear, etc. beautiful car. Pics really don’t do it justice.

That looks like a really nice color, sounds like it will be pretty awesome by the end. His camaro would be exactly what I would want to do if he had used your color and slightly different wheels
