I'm replacing OEM 26 spline axles with new Moser 28 spline axles, Can I use the old C clips on the new 28 spline axles or do I need a different size?
Thanks for your replyThey sell 28 spline kits for 10 bolt rears for stuff like Elky's and other stock rear ends, so I'm going out on a limb and say the same C-clip can be used. I know trucks start using different clips when you use the 9.5 and 10.5 ring gears, but they also use the same C-clip as the 7.5 and 8.5 rears in the light duty trucks. GM p/n 3833322.
If all else fails, call them and ask.
Thanks for replying.GM 10 bolt 7.5, 8.5 and 8.6 and Ford 7.5 and 8.8's use the same c-clip.
If you're making any type of power on a slick or drag radial, then I'd get new ones if your originals have a groove worn in them. For a stock motor and daily driving use, then re-use them.
Tell me more.... ever since I put the Moser 28 spline axles in my car, I thought they had more side to side play than the stockers. What's the nominal end play?Well I’ll throw another turd out there. They make different thicknesses to set the axle end play. So maybe look into that.
