So today I figured I would wire up the tac. It's a 86 ls Monte
I know it didn't origionally have a tac and it appears its not wired for a tac either there isn't a whitewire like I was told it should

So my question to you. How do I hook it up it has ss guages in it now

Signal wire to tach pin on hei distributor. Power to any key on power source. And a simple ground. Should be purdy easy! Good luck my friend

The Monte SS was equipped from the factory with a tach filter that goes between the tach connection on the distributor, and the back of the tach in the instrument cluster. I don't know if the filter is an absolute necessity, but if the manufacturer put it there, its probably required.

I ran a tach in my 84 Elco that didn't come with one and didn't use the filter. I don't know if its necessary but I never noticed anything wrong with it.

my question is because there is no white wire in the harness for the guage cluster.. so if i were to run a wire from tac on distributer what slot is for the tack on the plug for the guage cluster
