I started this thread in the O/T section by mistake. Just wondering if anyone here knows about the auction of the former Lambrecht Chev dealership that was in business in Pierce Nebraska from 1946-1996, that's taking place in September of this year. Here are some links.

Just curious if anyone here lives in that area, or knows anything about the dealership. I'd like to go to the auction, but its way too far for me.

Jeff,
I saw it a few days ago on Yahoo/ Of course I had to tune into the video featuring some of the cars up for auction. All I can say is.. I blown away.
I'd love to own that '58 Cameo pickup...or the '62 Chevy 327 4-spd car...which is a "used" car incidentally. I also like the '64 Impala. Damn...I'd take any one of them, even the Corvair.
I couldn't believe the cars with 1-5 miles on them...interiors still wrapped in plastic. True time capsule cars.
I'm sure there will be some brisk bidding on them. Apparently there's more cars warehoused somewhere.

Thanks Jack. If I understand some of the information that I've read online correctly, some of the used cars have been sitting outside for a number of years. While this will adversely affect their value, I would imagine that you're probably right. There should be quite a few people at the auction, and the bidding on some of these cars will probably be VERY brisk. I'd kind of like to go, just to be a "fly on the wall" if you know what I mean, and to see some of the low mileage "time capsule" cars.

Jeff,
I forgot that part about some of them being left outside. I assume it's the "used" cars that were stored outdoors. The others, probably the "new" cars, were warehoused indoors. I'm sure a few of those cars would look 100 X better with a good washing.
I too would like to be a fly on the wall to see what kind of crazy money these cars will bring.
I would love to be up close to see these cars in person. Well, I can always dream.

That old dealership is only a 45 minute drive from my house. My friend has driven by that place several times, and has tried to buy one of the tri-fives that are there. The old man would never sell. Now I see why. We are going to go the auction in September, and see if he can score one of them. I also want to see how many high-rollers will be there, and what that stuff will go for. If you look at the inventory list, its crazy what they have. One that caught my eye was a 1978 25th anniversary vette with 4 miles on it. Talk about a once in a life time treasure trove over there.

45 minutes away. There's no excuse not to go...
Yeah, I forgot about the '78 25th Anniversary Corvette. That would be a great score. What boggles my mind, is the extremely low miles on these cars. These people were definitely a little eccentric to say the least.

You'll have to take pics and fill us in on the auction.

I am definitely bringing my digital camera with. There has always been rumors around here that he had over 500 classics squirreled away as his retirement account. Now we know that it was actually true. My friends boss saw one of the tri-fives that was stored inside. The interior was in such good shape, that all you have to do is wipe it down and run with it.
