Don't use sealer in/on a carb, ever.

Wait- you left them off the carb or you mean you left them alone? The float level might be correct but the float may be sinking and causing the flooding. Did you use a new float? The proper fuel level should be no where near that solenoid gasket, it should be below it. The seal is only there in case of sloshing fuel- not designed to be flooded with fuel. I think a bad float was the culprit here.

The float may be toast as said. Make sure there isn't a crack in the connector as well. Really, a Dualjet? I thought everything other than the 3.8 in G bodies were either EFI or E4M series Qjet, even in Canada in 1986.

okay. yes i bought the complete kit the only thing it didnt come with was the mixture solenoid or the throttle sensor. i replaced everything on it.going to take it back off and see what is going on. i am not using any sealer on it.i will check and make sure my float is right. thanks for the input.

i tried again . same thing. i got a complete rebuild one online shipped to my door 218.00 . its already on the car and its up and running.
