just out of curiosity why switch carbs? From everything I have read the Q-jet is a very good carb to begin with. It seems like "upgrading" the carb is the one of the first things people try to get more performance out of these cars, and I really dont think the carb is one of the choke points on a 305 (or any engine short of a big block). Why not spend the money on a headers and a good aftermarket exhaust? Is anyone really picking up any ponies with aftermarket carbs on an otherwise stock or mildly modified engine?

if you change from a qjet you have to get an adapter

Unless you buy an aftermarket manifold that will accept a squarebore carb. 😉

doesnt hurt flow at all and if you change from a qjet you have to get an adapter

Based on what? Flow bench tests? Actual back-to-back quarter mile runs? Or just advertising?

when i had the other carb we ran it down the street and when we were done with the swap we did it again and it had more speed so it wasnt held back any....and no we didnt time it but from recent races we could tell it aint hurtin
