Has anyone used Newark carpets from J C Witney, I used ACC carpets in an ElCamino and they faded within a year here in Fl. trying to find out if these are any better. I'm working on a Cutlass wagon and would like to replace the carpets.

Can you re-dye your faded carpet? Sometimes you can. And it would be a whole lot cheaper. If it's already gotten crispy/brittle, you may not have much luck, but I would think after 1 year it shouldn't be toasted that badly.

It is possible to recolor the carpet but the cost of everything may run more than a new one. Also add the labor involved with having to brush out the carpet after every coat just to keep the fibers from clumping together.

Did you contact ACC? i have never had an issue with fade in the half-dozen ACC carpets I've installed.

Vince,
I've heard of Newark carpet before, but have not known anyone that actually used it. I remember you putting the ACC carpet in your old El Camino and was surprised at how much it faded.
In my wagon I also went with the ACC brand, but went with the mass backed carpet. It's almost like using OEM carpet which is molded and has a firm backing.
