Center Console for GP with B&M Quicksilver Shifter

I was wondering if anyone has tried using a facotry console with a B&M Quicksilver shifter in a Grand Prix or other G-Body Pontiac? I monuted the shifter to the floor, but the handle barely comes out of the console slot. I was looking and realized the Pontiac consoles seem taller than the Old/Chevy/Buick consoles. I am debating on if I should try to work in the factory console OR make my own...with drink holders.

if the shifter ligns up with the slot but is to short, i would say to raise the whole shifter up. just make some mounts or shims of some sort to raise the shifter.

I also would've recommended making an extension platform for the shifter to raise it.

I have a B&M Mega Shifter in my car and I had to make a custom bracket to raise it up 2-2.5" if I remember right. I do not know for sure but the F-Body console shifter may be longer.
