In the works of replacing the carpet in my 86 olds. Got just about everything out and now I'm down to the center console...whats the best way to take it out?

Pull the clip out of the front of the shifter handle and remove it.

Pull the shifter plate off and then unbolt the console.

Thank you. Got the console and carpet out.....and now that I got the carpet out, I need at least 1 floor pan repaired. Anyone know how much it costs to fix?

There's some small holes by the pedals. Looks like it's pretty thin around that area too.

Buy a patch panel cut out what you can and go to a welder not a body shop.

It will be a lot cheaper

the more you do and the less they do the price comes down

I've seen worse too. Just wasn't expecting to see all the rust...or at least hoping not to. Also when I loosened the shifter to pull the carpet.....park wasn't park anymore.......hope I didn't **** that up to bad

Progress. Passenger side was pretty good. Scraped, sanded and sprayed primer.
