I'm replacing all the original steering on the 1980 drag car with moog replacement parts and the centerlink is 1/2-3/4" higher than the original one and now the link rubs the oil pan and the inner tie rods hit the pan when turning as well.
I can see a clear visual difference in the original link to the moog link. the original has a more pronounced "V" at the ends. I'm sure this is the original center link also.
Anyone ever come across this before?

I used all Moog parts on my car. I didn't notice a difference. I don't have the engine in the car yet. Is this how yours looks?

A too high center link will promote bump steer.

The Howe adjustable centerlink can be lowered vs. stock. Lower the tie rod inner attachment points from stock reduces bump steer.

If the centerlink you install is higher than the one you removed, don't install it. That is the wrong way.

A Howe center link with tall lower ball joints and bump steer can be virtually eliminated through 90% of the wheel travel

Top one is the Moog, the bottom is the Original one. Same idler and pitman attached to each one in the pics.
The original is at least 3/4" lower and the tie rods clear perfectly!

the center part of the center link isn't causing the problem. What does Moog link compared to the original ink look like from the inner tie rods to the pitman arm and idler arm

I'm sure it's not boxed wrong. The original link has a more pronounced angle from the idler/pitman connections to the inner tie rod ends. the original link isn't any higher in the center than the top of the cross-member. The Moog one is higher than the cross-member.
