champion radiator?????????????

I had an aftermarket copper 4 core that I bought circa '92 and it cooled my 425hp 400 SBC very well. I used the car to pull my 20' boat with a car load of people with the AC on. Only when idling at the boat ramp for more than 15 minutes with the AC on did I have any issues.

I'm running the 3 core on my set up, and with a 160 degree t-stat and 106 degree summer heat, while running 3000RPM on the highway, it never broke 210 degrees, needless to say I'm very happy with their product! Not to mention it was a perfect fit.

I'd be hopeing for a little cooler than 210* ,especially with an alluminum radiator. I'm running an old copper 2 or 3 core and I'm worried about my motor climbing to 205 on the highway. I was figureing something was wrong with my system since My temps climb on the highway and cool to 185 on the back streets. I am also considering achampion all alum. rad.

Could you give me the info on your radiator. Pm me if you get a chance. TC.
My 3 year old brass tank started leaking this week,I have only got to drive it 3 times since I got it back together :blam:
I figured might as well go Aluminum ,What do you think 2 or 3 row , I think 3 cause it gets up to 118 here at times
I have read a lot of positive things about Champion let me know.

I am starting to think champion sent me a 4 core instead of a three core with how wide they clam the 4 core is. My "3 core" measures the same as the 4 core they sell.
JBreu- Do you have a part number for your radiator?
I may have to give them a call and see if i have a 4 core.

The cores in these radiators are bigger then stock. Pull the cap off and count the rows of cores you see....anyways it's Part # cc-162. It's the three core radiator-- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-Alumi ... 230bd5c54e

Yeah but thats running at a constant 3000 rpm on the highway in 106 degreee summer heat. For about 40 miles at that! Never climbed above 210 degrees at anytime.
