Hey guys, I’m going to swap in a Chevy 350 from the baby 305. I want to add long tube headers is hooker a good brand and is there any fitment issues I need to know about? In a 79 Malibu.
Hell yeah thanks bro!I have Hooker Super Competition long tubes on the 406 in my black 79 Monte Carlo. Only issues I had was with the full size starter sat extremely close to the tubes as they made their way along side the block and one tube had to be dinged to clear the rear upper control arm on the right side. These are Hooker 2150-1HKR Ceramic coated...Coating looked good only for the first 2 years.
The 267 in my blue 79 Monte Carlo has Hooker Competition long tubes 7514HKR installed by the previous owner and looking at them the fit is much better then the Super Comps in the black car.
Hope this helps.
Oh nice. Yeah I want to remove the vinyl and get it painted. Do you have experience putting a turbo 400 in this car at all?Sweet Malibu Classic. I had one years back same color but full vinyl top.
Odd options, Sport mirrors, F41 suspension, 2.41 Limited Slip rear, Heavy Duty Cooling, styled 6 window rally wheels and a 267 that was later swapped to a 350.
Car was a beast!
