Cool, having trouble reading the numbers on the head. What year? I see a RPM intake.

68 to 72 block...65 or 66 400 or 425 C heads, nodular crank,RPM intake,Comp Cams roller rocker setup, looking through the plug hole pistons look like new flat tops but not sure until I pull the heads.Got it dirt cheap.Even got the lift plate, engine stand and new oil pan with it.Drove 2 hours in heavy lake effect snow to get it yesterday.

Cool beans man. Don't be afraid to pick it apart here and there. You got it cheap for a reason, whether that reason is engine related is up to you to find out.

Interesting, I believe the C castings start in 66 or 67, as there was A and B castings first and 65 was the first year for the 400. Either way, unless that is a nice find. Betting there is a healthy cam as well in there. You probably only have high 8 to 1 compression at best, actually with 80cc heads, almost guarenteed bigger and those Speedpro pistons .025" in the hole, I get 8.6 to 1 and change. You need compression with those heads. That might be why they dumped this "dog" of a motor cheap. Nothing some milling and Rocket Racing .028" head gaskets can't fix. Just by bringing the chambers down to 77cc and using the .028" head gasket gives you 9 to 1. Awesome find, have fun.
