That harness should have/had the wires for the distributor (pink), starter crank (purple), one each for the power from the starter & to the alternator (both red), alternator to the volt/battery light (brown), temp (dk green), oil pressure (tan), electric choke fused to oil pressure switch (brown/white stripe), if with gauges choke light from oil pressure switch (green/white stripe).

So it looks like Ive got most of them covered. Ive got the starter crank (new blue 12ga). Got the two red 12ga (one starter, one alternator). The pink is probably the tan wire since the connector is white and comes out by the distributor. The light brown going to the alternator. Ive got a green and a dark blue added by me for the Autometer sending units. Only gauge in the dash was the fuel gauge. The carb has no choke.
It pissed me off a little because i couldnt find purple wire for the starter. LOL
So everything sound about right ?

Basicly. But being an '81 most likley it did have an electric choke when new.

Im sure it had one when I got the car. There were a few crappy splices done so I replaced them with home runs back to the bulkhead. Im using a Holley 750HP series so I probably got rid of that wire long ago.
Thanks for all the info ! I appreciate it !!!

Does the Mallory distributor still require a ballast resistor or a certain resistance coil, I assume so. I quickly fried a breakerless module running a low resistance coil with one. They need a 1500 ohm resistance coil. I am actually running the Mallory 6AL box with mine now.
