If I ever get a bunch of funding from some miracle investor and have no expectations to turn a profit I am going to start a race transmission shop and develop 2 transmissions from scratch and sell at a reasonable price

1 that is a 1000hp capable H pattern shifted 5 speed with a case similar to a M series but with a shifter similar to a T5/T56 location, gears 1-4 with M series ratios but like a 0.65 overdrive

And another that is a 1500hp capable 3 speed auto with powerglide-like 1st and 2nd gears and a 0.65 overdrive, either powershift style manual valve body or simple on board electronic controller.

Man, I still want to put this transmission in this car:

I have an AutoGear M22W- 22 straight cut gears with a 20 wide ratio spread and 2.56 1st. The 4 speed drawback is the 1:1 4th, but that can be easily overcome in a turbo car with 3.55, 3.42, or 3.23 rear gears to maintain cruise altitude.

Or a lot of RPM and not giving a hoot about the 4.8L you found in a dumpster. ;)

I bet that M22 has the sweetest of mechanical noises.
