Whew! I was actually scared of the pic that would follow the word "emissions " for a minute.

Mike, I just caught something on the cover of Car Craft regarding "bypass the intercooler, gain 44hp" on the way out the door from work. I will investigate tomorrow and report back. Your injection system was first to mind.
EDIT: no actual car crafting in the article; they were just bolting a Snow kit to a dyno mule.

My oldest had too much energy and issues making good decisions with it so I took her to the garage to help me... and have a teachable moment or two. First was how a battery works and how to put it on a charger, then it was time to empty the gas tank. Set up a jerry can with the stock feed line in it, fired up the air compressor and shot compressed air down the vent line. Like magic we got 20+ litres in a hurry. After that she ran off to play with her sister.

Which meant I could pull the tank and get to work converting it to EFI. Turns out this is a baffled tank - we're going road racing!

Looks pretty good inside for a 20+ year-old tank. It is a Spectra unit - made in Canuckistan. Dropped the Walbro 450 hanger assembly in and locked it down. Ran new ethanol-rated rubber lines with proper EFI hose clamps and reused the stock vent line and hose.

Next up is cutting out the spare tire tub and making a new box to hold the electrics and a mount for the fuel filter and distribution block.

Looking at ordering this: https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/scg1.php

Manual: https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support/manual/SCG-1 Manual.pdf

Reason being that the Operating Systems (OS) used with the stock PCMs offer only Open Loop tuning under load/WOT - which requires really close monitoring AFRs/pressure and air flow throughout the year (lean in the Spring/Fall, and rich in the Summer) as air density, humidity, and barometric pressure changes. The SCG-1 looks like it offers enough of a target AFR and Closed Loop operation to mitigate some of this OS limitation. Ideally, you would have a system that adds fuel, not removes air - or both - but, it is something. The only thing I don't like is you cannot (immediately) externally log the built in MAP sensor (which I bet a breakout harness to listen to the signal could be built) in case you exceed your 2 or 3 bar MAP (with an over-boost situation), additionally you cannot log the Duty Cycle %. Now, I have used LogWorks in the past and it works - but that means running two dataloggers and having to manually sync the data when reviewing. Kinda lame, but workable.

Can anyone suggest a better boost controller/wideband option?

Didn't Happel and a lot of other people have issues with innovate stuff?

My innovate I have in my l67 fturd will just go limp randomly and fail to like full rich.

That Gage looks good but I'm afraid of buying innovate again

I have an MTX-L in both the TBSS and wagon and they work good. TBSS is on it's second sensor. My old Turbo Buick had an LC-1 that must have had a 10 year old sensor in it when I sold the car - worked mint. I think this stuff dies when the wiring is "rushed".

While window shopping for boost controllers and widebands is fun... it doesn't get a car built. So I took a break from the must-do pile... and jumped into the wants.

I give you: Thanos!

Now that is purdy! If only you would paint the valve covers to match!

Barney is big, purple, heavy, and makes me want to cry at the snap of fingers too, doesn’t mean that’s a good thing!
