I wonder when/if the restomod/pro touring thing will take off on disco era C3's. It seems there are plenty of clean examples that go across auction blocks with anemic 180-220 hp small blocks just begging for a LS swap.

Cheap! I don't like C3s even a little bit, though
It's funny but nice examples of these seem to have higher prices than the early C4's in the same condition that I see for sale.
My buddy told me the same thing that he hates these years when I sent him some pictures of a 78' that one of my other freinds was considering buying but he passed on it because it was a stolen recovery with a rebuilt title.

A C4 with an LS motor would be a rocket sled, a C3 would still be a C3.

C3's are definitely commanding higher prices than similar condition C4's, but then people are generally stupid.

Back in the early 1980's, illegal "corvette chop shops" were a thing. The pictures are what I imagined one would look like. In 1986 we bought a '70 'cuda440-6 from a guy who needed money for lawyer's fees (he took the 'cuda on trade for one of his shady vettes).

I was considering a C4 prior to buying my Regal, it had the checks in all the right boxes, a fiberglass body, handles well. fits big tires, removeable roof, FI Chevy V8, buckets and console but for me it wasn't a Gbody plus I always wanted another Regal to build myself the way I wanted it.
Well eventually.

As a previous owner of both a 454 '74 and an LT1 '92, these are way overpriced. You can still buy rubber bumper vettes, running/driving for 6K or less. Having to round up all the little odds and ends adds up FAST.

People (especially any other generation Corvette owners) hate C4s, but the 92-96s are hella fun for not a lot of money. You don't get in so much as you put it on...kinda like a dragster or fighter jet.
