Cowl induction hood installation???'s

I just installed a cowl induction hood on my 1979 Malibu and it does not fit exactly like the original did it doesn't go all the way flush to the fenders in the back any suggestions or help why did Hood would not fit flush? See pictures

You might have to adjust the rear stop on the center of the cowl panel and/or the fender side bolts of the hinges.

You're going to have to find a happy medium adjusting the cowl hood. I find that they just don't lay down as flat as the original hood. This is the observation (and general consensus) I've had seeing cowl induction hoods installed on other Malibus and El Caminos.
Just do the best you can and try to get the gap around the hood as even as possible.
As well made as they are, they still don't fit as well as a stock hood.

Don't have any pics, my car is still in pieces. As with all body panels there is some play in the bolt hole size to allow this needed adjustment. Just loosen enough to still hold the hinges in place but can be moved with slight effort.

You're also going to have to play with latch alignment as you adjust the back and forth and side to side of the hood.
There's also small sheetmetal screws toward the corners of the hood. That helps in the up and down height adjustment.
