I really don't know what else to call it, but if you have plastic trim in your interior that looks like chrome, the covering peels off. It's normally found on the door panel trim.

If you look at the pic in my sig closely, the trim on my panels are about an inch wide and relatively flat. I know the trim inside Malibus are about 3/4 of an inch so my idea might not work in that case due to the rounded edges.

Well anyway, I have this idea besides painting them or leaving them gray since the covering peeled off. I found "brushed aluminum-look" vinyl. I'm thinking razor blade and possibly a heat gun could work wonders. You can also get the vinyl in different woodgrain patterns if that suits you.

And that concludes my drunk post for this evening

i have an idea of the look your shooting for....and i recommend water transfer printing which allows you to have hundreds of diff. types of finishes including all woods and carbon fibers and basically any design...i dont know what they charge in your area but its pretty inexpensive around here and i use them frequently..they just did a phantom for me all the wood was treated to a custom black burlwood finish that had red in it aswell.....came out really nice and people always ask how we did that..

this might help you understand the process

I did my Camino over 10 years ago with a roll of chrome striping tape from a local vendor. It doesn't flex like regular vinyl tape, so application requires some care. Looks good enough to get through show judging.

i had the same problem with my door pannels, i bought a few sheets of chrome tape and it lasted for a while but then over the summer i think the heat took off the adhesive and it curled up
