Are these available? I'v been scanning the net for an hour, and can't seem to find any for the 78-87 cars....
I need to replace one because I trimmed it to clear the A/C compressor.

Believe it or not but some dealers still have them in stock. If you find a good dealer parts counter guy he should be able to find some dusty ones or be able to find where you can get them. I have the U B tubular uppers so I opened the holes to 1/2 " and used a cold chisel to make some knurls and they actually held the bolts in place while installing the nylon lock nuts.

When I was redoing my Regal a year or so I went to the dealer they only had 2 in stock and they told they were discontinued and weren't expecting anymore but not knowing if I would run into any issues I bought them to have them on hand.
So you might get lucky and your local dealer might still have some.

I'm glad it was that easy, it's surprising what can still be found at a dealer
It's also surprising what you can't find there.

there is one local dealer who always have a 60's or 70's car in showroom condition for sale in their showroom and they have one parts guy who can track down just about anything not in stock, if it is in stock he knows exactly where it is...

Careful with the nylocks. A friend of mine had an issue with the rear suspension of his 71 Chevelle due to losing a nylock. I used prevailing torque locknuts on the full suspensions in both my cars.
