I'm looking for some help to find a Turn Signal/Cruise Stalk for my 1979 Pontiac LeMans, What i know is that it will only work from 1978-80. With wipers & headlights on the dash non-dimmer. Also seems to be Brand specific. The correct GM part is #6465256. "the parts place" reproduces it but I've read the reviews & it looks very flimsy & cheap for $100. I'd like to find a Used Genuine GM good & Working condition part. I assume because my car never was ordered with a cruise it would need a Brakelight/Cruise switch for it to work? & also does under the dash have a separate Interior Cruise wire harness that connects thru a Grommet to the outside Inner fender "Transducer" harness? hope someone can help me. Thanks.

I need this as it exactly says.
TURN SIGNAL LEVER WITH CRUISE CONTROL BLACK KNOB FLAT TAB WITH MOUNT HOLE TO MOUNT TO TURN SIGN SWITCH WITHOUT DIMMER

Are you trying to fit an OE setup, or an aftermarket one? '78-'80, and maybe a year or two beyond, use the parts that also appeared on B- and C-Bodies in the '70s, cable-driven, vacuum bellows style. Later Gs had a solid state setup. Mine quit, and I looked into moving to the newer style, but got discouraged when I started digging into it.

If I "do" the car further, under discussion right now, I'm going with the Dakota Digital cluster and cruise, works great on my '66 Beaumont (with Sniper EFI, I have to admit...)

I don't imagine the column switch is brand specific, although I can't state for certain. The cruise servo is definitely shared across all the brands and platforms.

O.E Sir. I got the "78-80" year specification directly from the 1976-81 Pontiac Parts catalog and yes the Regulator/Servo from what i can find in the catalog depended on the engine you had. I have a 231 Buick, same goes for the Brackets it mounts too, The transducer was shared between a few cars but not many. I want to keep the car original as possible. It's taken me years to Track down a Cruise setup for my Buick V6. So no Dakota Digital here and it's way out of my budget.
