Cruise control without computer 87 SS?

I've always been the guy that put in a 350 and left off all the "unneeded" stuff like cruise control. Now I'm getting older and more into the driving/cruising instead of street racing. On my latest build (87 Monte SS) I plan on no computer stuff. I have all the cruise control stuff on an 88 SS parts car. I'd kinda like to put it back on there and be functional. Does it go through the computer?

No it shouldn't need the computer. It gets it's info from the VSS mounted to the back of the speedo.
