Yes they do, any aftermarket speaker is an improvement.

I use a small, curved pick tool (kind of like the ones a dentist would use) and pull straight up on each side carefully. I wouldn't use a flat-head screwdriver because you'll crack the dashboard around the speaker openings. It's bad enough that the dash cracks on its own due to age without helping destroy it further.

also, place something between the grille and windshield. hate to have you crack your windshield when the grilles pop. and they do pop.
