How the heck do you take the dash off? I found one in the junkyard and have no clue how to get it off. Help is desperately needed.

there are screws hidin everywhere. across the defrost vents, behind the gages, under the dash. Just be patient and keep looking

FYI, the passenger side wood strip does NOT have screws behind it. (AT LEAST FOR THE PONTIAC)

There are bolts at the bottom lip of the dash. Those mount to a metal frame.

There are screws behind the dash to mount the wiring harness. The dash will only come out part way until they are removed.

There are philips screws the hold in the instrument cluster bezel on the top lip. The hex head "fake screws" on the front are just that...fake.

Screws behind the dash to remove instrument cluster.

When I replaced mine in my cutlass I disconnected the fuse block from the firewall side, 3 hex head bolts I believe, this allows you to keep the wiring harness intact on the dash and then you can swap it all over to the new dash while standing upright instead of on your head. Should be the same for Monte's.

Good Luck!

You'll need to lower the column as there is a metal piece that is sandwiched in there. ...at least on my '80 Regal
