I had an oil leak. I Replaced the valve covers thinking that was it. I went underneath the car and replaced the transmission pan seal and happen to notice oil on my pass. headers where it start to run horizontal (right under passenger floor pan) looks like it was getting sprayed on the side of it. I tried to wipe the areas off to see where it's coming from but not alot of space for my hand or brush....

403, IIRC? Agree with fleming442 and additionally, although less likely, check the oil filter housing where it either bolts to the block I've also had oil filter gaskets seep as well. Again, unlikely. BTW, no oil leak is considered decent, although we know what you mean.

Solution- build the 455 and drop it in. Fixed!! :)

If you still cannot determine the source of the leak....try this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008I2VPC4/?tag=gbody-20

And...

https://www.ebay.com/i/143080589826?chn=ps

Or something similar. Dye it, run it, check it. You'll find it.

For the same things faster, Autozone - Orielly's and the like have the oil dye in Interdynamics or Quest brands, and Ace Hardware and Big 5 have scorpion flashlights.

That too. Or NAPA. or wherever. The point was to get some oil dye and a blacklight flashlight to help locate.

One thing to note, check to see which dye you need. They have some for coolant, some for fuel, some for oil, etc., so make sure it's the right type for what you're chasing down should you decide to try that method

Awesome. I will buy some right after work. I'm sure that will show me where it's coming from. Leak Seems worse now. Before it would have a slight drip when I park it after driving and then stop. Now it doesn't really care if it moves.....still does the drip. Bright side, the trans seal hasn't leaked since I changed the seal 😂......now that I said that, will find 5 qts all over the floor when I get home 😔....if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all

Added the dye in the car. Will drive it for a week or two and see what happens.
