In the rarest parts thread I noticed that the Regal digital climate control was mentioned a couple of times as a pretty rare item. I've found a Regal with the setup and was wondering if it's worth pulling? If so is anyone interested and what all should be pulled with the control?

Thanks

I would assume there must be some type of harness that goes with it.

I would be interested in it if I could adapt it to the Cutlass

I was one of the people that mentioned it. I would pull every last wire to it, there is a electronic lever looking module (no clue technical term) that controls the air flow that goes with it and then the module under the hood on the heater box is a very important hard to find part that is unique to the setup. I would be interested in it if no one else wants it and you do not want a ton for it.

Did the car have any other rare options? twilight sentinel? Fiber optic taillight indicators in the trim panel above the rear window. I forgot to list that option on the other thread but those do exist.

And if it doesn't work, where do you get parts for it? That'd be my concerns.

It truly is a rare and desirable option. Yes they were problematic to some degree (anything electronic). I think GM worked out all the bugs in the FWD Park Avenue Digital climate control units. I have had those for years and years with NO issues, the Regals, not so much

As I like to say...your dime, your time...

I like the simplicity of the manual controls. I find I don't go fiddling with them that much anyway. I've only ran across a few of those Regal units in junkyards and I've always steered clear of them. I've never actually seen a car with a working model in it, though.

But rare don't mean crap if it doesn't work the way it should. If you can find the parts that will make it work or keep it working, cool. If it's in the junkyard and you can get it for dirt, it's still worth the snag. Parts is parts.
