hey dudes,

i was strolling through the junkyard, there were plenty of 3rd gen and 4th gen Z28s with Posi's, well, i just want to know how to disassemble the rear end to remove the carrier...

thanks... any detailed pics?

any links?

Remove driveshaft. Remove bolt on pinion, remove yoke. Remove back cover. Remove rear wheels. If axles are bolted in, remove bolts, pop out axles. If c-clips are used, pull c-clips (inside posi unit) out-they should pull right out. Then pull out axles. Then remove the two bearing caps and pull the unit out. Pull out the pinion gear as well. Be sure to put something on the ground under the differential so when you pull the posi unit out and drop it on the ground it doesn't roll around in the dirt.
