Glad you made it to the show ok. I ended up having other obligations so I could not go. Maybe next year. I have a couple questions for you. Does your vent deflector change a little bit with higher rpm? What are you running for pressure on low side of the A/C? I am thinking about getting a Ford vacuum pump to run the heating and cooling vacuum stuff. I do have check valves in, but the air deflector still closes a little bit at 2500 rpm and effects how much air blows out of the vents. I know you have overdrive, so maybe you don't have that problem.

Yeah my hvac doors change position when i go into boost. I don't have a check valve (I really need to get one) so when i go into boost it starts putting the AC on my feet. Another one of those things I havn't delt with. I have a vac canister somewhere, I just have to find it.

I think low side is 65 psi? I can't remember for sure. I have 4.5 cans written down for the cutlass and I put 4 cans in this and it cools plenty well.

Tempting..... If this car was a bit more extreme that would be a good idea. I might try to save this hood yet.

Sanded the rest of the paint off, lots of bondo and it's oil canned hard on the drivers side but the dents arent pulled so with the dents pulled it might go back into shape? Regardless its a turbo hood so they don't show up that often.

Worst to first

Dewalt wood palm sander works great on soft 2k primer but is a slow turd on hard 6 layer thick laquer
DA is good but the compressor cant keep up
Grinder with a flap wheel does great but its way aggressive
But the polisher with a 80 grit pad, man that thing HOGS and kicks butt.

Do you think some heat might work to pull some of thise dents? I've heard that's a hail damage repair method but not live in an area that doesn't deal with such repairs I never seen it done.

Getting back to this thing, working on the rear wing! I think I am going to polish this wing and clear it instead of going body color.

Hinges were a bit rusty so i wire brushed them

Having bolt issues. This wing doesnt have the bolts to hold the wing to the pedestal hinges. I have the bolts off the other wing I am selling but wanted to get new ones for this one. They feel like an M6X1 but the diameter of the bolt is larger than M6 should be. The M6 should be 5.75-5.95 diameter roughly and my factory GM bolt I have as a reference is 6.05. It's closer to 1/4-28 but the pitch is off.

I can put normal M6 bolts in it but i am afraid the thread engagement % is going to be real small.

I even test fit the factory flange nut that holds the hinge studs to the car and that seems again like an M6.1 bolt and nut. It seems like GM didnt use normal metric hardware on these bolts???

In other news I sanded the paint off the wing and lightly polished it. I didnt take that much time to throughly polish everything but it sorta matches the trim on the car so Im good with it. Going to clear it tonight. Just went 140 to 400 grit and a quick shot at 1200 before I polished it. I can see the DA circle sand lines in a few places but I can live with it.
