In the middle of replacing all the drum brake components and I'm left with this little clip from the hardware kit. Doesn't even seem to fit anywhere so I'm thinking it's an extra piece for a different vehicle or something. What do you think? Thanks!

I've seen other cars use a pin and a clip to hold the parking brake lever to the shoe but on these cars it just hooks into a slot, so I was thinking it was for a different gm vehicle

Is it from a rubber brake line hose?

I was wondering if it helped anchor the parking brake cable where it entered

Thanks for the replies! The cable is retained in a hook and the spring tension with no place for a clip and the rubber hose

Doesn't appear to be anything useful back there...

Seen it on older (1960's& 70's) rear brake set ups to secure the parking brake arm into the brake shoe at the pivot point. This is a photo from the web showing it on a older Chevy/GMC pick up rear axle.

Makes sense, I don't have a pin on mine, it's just a hook and a hole. Thanks for all the info everyone!
