Dual Gate Swap: What Is This Sorcery?

Hi there, I was wondering about Dual Gates. Are the shifter's themselves specific to certain cars? Or would any Dual Gate hook to any car? I know the actual cover/plate that shows the pattern is vehicle specific, but is the shifter? for example, would say a 3-Speed Dual Gate from a 67 Pontiac fit in my 82 Cutlass, or any other G-Body? Any input is greatly appreciated, Thanks

Yes any dual gate that is three speed will work in your car if it has a three speed trans. All the dual gates looked slightly different though and the one from the 79 Hurst Olds will bolt right up to any 78-88 Cutlass, gbody console floor mounting brackets. If you could find one out of a 79 Hurst with the console and all, it will bolt right in and look factory. (if you have a console car)
