Hello my name is Marcel and I bought a 79 malibu classic 2 months ago.
The car is originally sold in the netherlands.
I bought this one from the second owner.
The car was still in it’s original state.
It wasn’t used for the last 5 years due to the death of the former owner.
The first ride to our home was a 70 miles trip and offcourse an adventure after not being used for five years.
The car did well and we got home without any problems.
The car need some body work and a fresh paint.
I had too fit some new tyres since they weren’t any good due to the time of just standing in the garage for five years.
Last week my fuelpump broke down and is replaced.
The swaybar supports needs to be changed and there is a buzzer that goes on and of whenever he likes to go off.
I still have to figure out that problem
For the rest it’s a nice ride , altough not too fast with it’s 267 engine.
We’ve got a lot of compliments about this car abd i really enjoy drivng it.
It’s a totally diffirent car then my previous owned 68 chrysler new yorker coupe but it is a lot of fun.
I hope to do a lot of miles or km’s through the netherlands and europe

Beautiful survivor!!! Love it!! My 1st car was a 1979 Malibu wagon, so I will always have a special kind of love for these malibus!! Thanks for sharing!! Love it!
To my surprise it is still a populair car in the netherlands, I get a lot off positive reactions on it.
I like the size of it but for dutch sizes it is still a pretty big car.
I hope to get this warning buzz fast out of the car . Till then i unplug the battery to prevent from running low .

Welcome from Germany!
Did you find the Malibu on eBay? There was a similar one for sale on eBay for quite some time for a pretty good price.

I saw the car on Marktplaats, the dutch ebay and the price was very good so i bought it for the asking price.
I stood for sale for one day .
I didn’t hesitate buying it and i have no regrets doing this.

Picture courtesy of another G body forum post... The buzzer is right above the driver side foot well lighting socket. I would just unplug it for now
