EGR Delete

The guy I bought my cutlass from changed it over to a regular edelbrock carb before I got it. All the smog stuff was removed and the egr was blocked off. I know I need a vacuum advance distributor to make it work with this carb. I'm told that this change over can cause problems with my transmission. Can someone explain exactly what I need to do to make this work without the computer?

some say of the lock up isn't working the transmission will run hot....but I ran mine without the lock up for a long time with no issues

I was told it has something to do with the TV cable? And if it's not adjusted right the transmission will grenade in a few miles.

The lockup on the 200-R4 is electronic.
The lock-up kits are $75-$100 to cure the problem.

And yes, you will need to change your distributor if it is still stock..
