I was wondering precisely what year the front of the car changed. I found a 79 that has the front of what I thought was the later style cars. The car has been repainted so it could have been swapped. Was it even possible to have the brick style front on a 79 or is this guy bs-ing me?

It could have been swapped to the later style header panel. The later parts will fit on a 79, just wouldn't be original.
