Last night I was flipping through GM service bulletins and this particular one caught my attention. I never seen a t top el camino but seen plenty of sun roofs back then. Dont remember it being an option but it must have.

the later days of checking the boxes for what you want built on the car... going by the weird stories of gm executives optioned cars, there may have been 1 or 2 that passed through the assembly line.... would love to see one equipped with that option!

One company that comes in mind that could pull it off is C&C

In the 1970 Monte Carlo owners manual they had how to care for your CONVERTIBLE TOP. They never produced one but I heard back then that they were planning to.

Since I've seen a lot of crazy stuff not showing up in official price books, there might be a chance that some inofficial "COPO" options floating around.
When I was in sales for an Opel dealer back in the early 90's we could order some real weird stuff, including thrid party HO engines and mix-matched body options (i.e. the front end of the top-of-the-line model on a plain jane wagon or round rear wheel arches instead of straight ones).

Three were built pre production. Even the assembly manuals have everything for the 13867 Monte converts. Was killed off just as regular production started.

Back in the day there were a lot of options that were considered and a lot of people trying to justify their positions

Only thing cooler than a 2 door wagon would be a T-top Elky. Even a targa top would be Ratical.
Yeah, yeah, my minitruck slipped out again. I gotta remember to check that zipper.

Look at the part numbers. They're for a G-body hard top. I thought elkys had a sloping rear seal for the door windows. Good to know the new numbers are softer and thicker. Maybe they meant Monte Carlo...
