electric choke wiring

wheres everyone connecting their electric choke into? Just bought a 1411 edelbrock and I would like to have the wires ready before I get the carb wednesday

Jive read people using the wipers or distributor. Also seen a few things at car shows being tied Into other connectors like this. But what's the right way? Running 11ga with a fuse to the battery or into the fuse box?

I was just watching some videos which also said to do the same thing. I will do it this way. I Have everything to do it right now too. Thanks. I'm sure your getting tired of seeing my posts by now 🤣😢

Dont listen to anyone that tells you to wire up your choke to the distributor.
You can use the exciter wire from the alternator (only gets juice when alt is spinning), the yellow(?) Wiper motor wire, or any other SWITCHED 12v source, preferably fused. On the 231 Buick at least, GM had the choke tied in with the oil pressure switch. It would close the circuit at a preset limit (usually something low like 5psi). That set up used the tan wire from the fuse box, brown to the idiot light (r vise versa, dont remember exactly what goes where), and a light blue wire to the choke itself.

that is a better way of doing it then splicing into a wire, I would add an inline fuse to the wire though
