Don't just throw in a bigger fuse. Yoi could melt the wires and cause a fire.

If he's just testing it, then an extra 5 or 10 amps will not be a hazard.

Because if it's truly a short circuit, it will blow the fuse regardless.

You can, but try the other stuff first. Start simple and then keep looking.
