To those who have converted to an electric fuel pump for carb applications, where / how have you mounted them. Looking for ideas- location... did you fab a mounting plate... how did you tie in to the factory tank, etc?? Thanks for any tips AND pics.

I did mine on the frame just in front of the rear axle, right side where the fuel line is.

I thought of adding a small electric pump as a primer pump to fill the carb bowl when the car has sat for awhile. I would consider mounting it in the same location as you recommended, Doug.

The directions I read (actually) said as close to the fuel tank as possible.

Here’s my setup, pardon the hackiness of the mounting, but it works, as the carter unit the PO had installed was in the way of the new exhaust run, and I’m still pondering how to reuse it in a better location. For now it works, and is away from the heat.

When I did my FI conversion I used a GN tank.

With an external I would sump the tank make a bracket from the rear bumper or trunk floor

Then run the lines between the tank and spare tire wheel well or down the drivers side frame rail

Then what ever side you need the lines you can cross them over above the rear end just like the factory does.

But sumping the tank is a must for me with an external.
