Mmmmmmm- I can smell the grilled Yak already! My buddy wants to drag me along to find him a 4-speed. Every time we find one he gags at the prices. Meanwhile all my good 4-speeds have come from E-town swap meet so maybe I'll go. At least if he drives I can chug beers all day!

You buy a 4 speed at E-town and you get 4 reverses and 1 forward gear!!!

I went there in the spring, there seemed to be 100+ vendors selling bikes and crap that wasn't even car related. My 1 purchase - a hood ornament. It used to be much better. There was 1 guy there if I remember with Gbody stuff, but mostly Monte stuff. I'm going to go to the fall one on the Friday. Might as well you never know, but it's really gone downhill.

Ha ha! Lessons learned: never ask "Is that a...(specific ratio in a transmission or rear end)". Way too easy for them to just say YES! Always make THEM tell you what it is. And then bring along chalk so you can mark the splines and rotate it to see for sure. You should also bring along a 1/2" wrench or socket to remove a side or rear cover to see exactly the condition. An honest guy won't mind. After all, we are talking several hundred dollars here. And I am way to old to be carrying a transmission on my shoulders back to the car. There are kids with hand trucks roaming around that will haul it for you- $5 well earned.

I used to go every year back in the day. Then I got out of the car scene when my kids were young. Long story short, I went there with my son for the Fall '11 meet and I was totally shocked. Stupid prices for junk, yard tools, sunglasses, CDs and a whole bunch of crap that didnt have a thing to do with cars. Havent been back since.
Spring and Fall Carlisle were always good. I used to go to both for many years. Missed Fall '07 because my father passed away. Missed both of them the following year because I was dealing with a touch of cancer. Sad to say because of other health issues I never went to another one. This getting old crap can suck. LOL

I used to be a vendor every year and watched the decline but as a buyer I actually do well however I need to look a lot harder now but I find some killer deals just got to sift through the junk and ignore the drunks
