So my 79 Malibu is running a 406 SBC 700r4 trans with a 8.5 GN rear diff. Last year all stock suspension 255 et streets with power steering and belt driven water pump and a 3.42 rear gear with an Eaton locker it ran a 12.3. Over the winter I converted to electric water pump, manual steering box, umi tubular rear suspension/adjustable uppers fixed lowers & sway bar with chassis braces. I just installed 4.10 gears drag bags and notched the frame for 275 tires. What do you all think my E.T. will improve to?

It depends. When you ran the 12.3 did you have traction issues? What is your curb weight and HP?
About 3300 with driver not sure on hp guessing about 475? Its a 406 with afr heads and howards 580 roller cam 750 dp carb and air gap intake. Foot brake leaving at about 2250 rpm any higher it would spin with the 255 tires. At 2250 I cut a 1.6 60 foot on the old setup. I also upgraded front uper control arms to tubular 8ich on both sides

A 1.6 what in 60. There is a huge difference between 1.600 and 1.699. Whatever gains you make in 60, will almost double at the stripe. I don’t know that there’s going to be any huge gains from that. You may have saved a little weight, maybe a few hp and possibly keep the engine in it’s powerband longer, maybe .15 from where’s you were.

Your ET should improve. So much depends on your combo and if they complement each other. As Fleming said your 1/4 mi MPH tells a story. What intake, cam specs(didn't see 580) compression, which heads, converter, tire size. 475 flywheel HP in a 3300 lb car has the capability of running 11.6.
